Matcha Tea has many health benefits, is good for metabolism and increases energy, so what’s not to love.
So what is it? Basically it is finely ground powder of specially grown and green tea. As it is whole leaf, compared to other green teas, it is high in antioxidants, caffeine and amino acids.
I first tried it a few months ago after hearing about the health benefits, at first I was a bit sceptical but since I’ve never looked back.
I serve my Match tea in a classic way, mixed with water (warm or cold) – nice and simple- and perfect for me because I usually have this on the go. But this is also great in smoothies! I like mixing banana, apple, spinach, matcha and a dash of coconut water.
Instead of having a morning coffee (I do still have a cup of English breakfast tea every morning) I have a matcha Tea, and I love how much energy it gives me.
So why do I use it:
When I first heard about Matcha tea I heard that as well as being great for your health, it is also great for metabolism. I have a few tummy troubles and I have the worst metabolism, so I thought I would give this a go, I have read reviews where people have said this helps weight loss, but I think they may be lying. But what I will say, is that is has been an absolute wonderland when to reducing my bloated feeling. I no longer feel bloated constantly and it definitely helps me feel less sluggish.
Taste & smell:
So when I was first given this to try, I actually hated the smell and it made me really nervous about trying it, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the taste. I wouldn’t say it was the nicest thing I’ve ever drunk in my life, and I still prefer the taste of a nice strong latte, but it is actually really enjoyable.
So what brands do I use:
The Matcha on the go teapigs sachets are really good, mainly because I can keep a few satchets in my bag and carry them around easily.
I brought this one because it was a bit cheaper than some of the others I had seen as Holland and Barrett’s had a bit of a discount at the time. And I have to say I can’t really tell the difference between the two. It gives me energy and makes me feel a bit less bloated so a winner in my eyes.
